Okay, so I have to amend my list of favorite things about being pregnant to include what may now be my #1 favorite thing about being in my condition: maternity jeans.

Now that I own this life-transforming apparel, it is unclear to me why I spent weeks fussing with hairbands around the buttons of my skinny jeans or trying to wear long shirts to conceal my gaping zipper.

Most unclear to me is why all jeans aren’t made with a wide elastic band at the top. It’s so fucking genius and comfortable I can barely stand it.

Anyway, I’m really glad my new pants are working out, because I pulled a total pregnancy card to get them. I literally made my husband drive me two hours to the nearest mall with a maternity store, wait in the steaming mall parking lot with Tigger while I shopped, then drive me another 30 minutes to my midwife appointment, then drive me another two hours to San Francisco to meet my good friend’s baby for the first time. #goodhusbandaward

I’ve got more shopping on the brain, too, because we’re partnering with prAna for the next two weeks of the #1MillionMinutes challenge, and all I can do is look at their new fall line and drool and wonder, “Maybe that would be able to accommodate my belly?”

I have reason to believe some of their gear might, too: this top worked great pre-pregnancy:

These pants are still rocking my world – I just fold down the waistline once, and though the effect is a slight muffin top, that’s nothing that a long-ish top can’t cover up:

Actually, truth be told, I need to get a new top, but the swim apparel is all on sale so here we gooooo!

I’m so excited to rack up more minutes towards our bodacious [adj] goal of reaching 1 million minutes this summer!  While most of my sweat has come from hiking [type of activity], I have also done quite a bit of yoga and kayaking [type of activity].

To motivate myself to get from second breakfast [workout / activity] to hiking [workout / activity] and through my day, I always have to be armed with snacks! [noun]. I find that the more less hangry [adj] that I am, the more successful [adj] I am at achieving my goals.

Since staying on track requires so much snacking [adj] focus [noun], I think it’s important that I treat myself! If I were going to reward myself with something from prAna this week, it would most definitely be the Ginger top or Holly Dress [item(s) from prAna] because  the ginger top has a gorgeous drape, and the Holly dress – that back – swoon!

Adults like mad libs, too

Ever since returning from Blogfest, I’ve been using Grokker fitness videos (try the premium version free with code LOVEGROKKER) to ease myself back into shape and take better care of myself and Alien. So far, I am blown away by their library of videos. There is literally something for everyone, including my “used to be fit, took a few months off, am now not sure how to go about getting back in shape” self. Grokker Mad Lib!

I’m so excited to rack up more minutes using video workouts from Grokker! There’s everything from prenatal yoga [workout type] to HIIT conditinoing [workout type] for everyone from beginners to advanced, and I’m especially pumped to try _cardio dance!_ [workout name] because it will make me extra energized! [adjective].

I plan to do my video workout by the lake [place] before _breakfast_[activity] and after sunrise [activity]. My favorite thing about video workouts is you can fit them in anywhere! [noun], and they’re a super convenient way to get sweaty when I _am traveling or don’t have much time._[verb].

My goal is to hit _300 [number] minutes this week!. I’ll do _vinyasa flow_[workout name] on one of my more intense workout days, and prenatal yoga [workout name] on a rest or lower intensity day.  I challenge Exploring Domesticity [workout buddy name] to beat my # of minutes or to do _Cardio dance [activity / video name] with me!

Getting inspired… plus great white sharks

Happy Monday!

So, I got karmically bitch slapped this weekend. After my gloating and crowing about how awesome second trimester is, it came along and knocked me down a peg or ten.

I spent all of Saturday sleeping, like I’d taken a red-eye halfway around the world and then been pumped full of Benadryl and Ambien.

Seriously, it was one of those can’t keep your eyes open, can’t lift your head off the pillow kinds of days.

I guess that one, not very hard yoga class, plus some serious GSD on Friday really did me in?

My sleepy Saturday aside, it was a glorious weekend around these parts. I did a new hike with some new friends, and discovered an amazing swimming hole that I have to go back to.

Then there was some work (always the working!) and last minute prep for BlogFest. Thanks to spending some time working this weekend, I’m only feeling mildly panicky that the conference is only a few days away.

I’m also hoping that my little hike yesterday doesn’t mean I’m going to spend all day fighting to stay awake today. After all, it’s the first day of #LJInspired, and I’m counting on this challenge to get me back on track so I don’t embarrass myself too badly in front of Gabby Reese and Beto Perez this weekend.

I believe that the key to a happy life is having people around who you love and who love you. [noun]. Those people [same noun] inspires me to be the kickass, stubborn [adj] person that I am today. I am lucky to have my mom  [person] and the #sweatpink community [person] in my life because they inspire me to live life to my fullest and to chase my dreams.

My dream is to one day cage dive with great white sharks [verb] and even if it takes being buried alive in spiders, [noun], I know I’ll get there because I’m not afraid to dream big!
